Boon Chronomancer Rifle / Sword & Shield Chronomancer is the Mesmer that hands the effect of a shatter to the people standing next to it.
Time Splitter swaps in the chrono shatters and unlocks Wells, and from there the whole line is built to point outward:
Seize the Moment turns each clone you shatter into
Quickness for nearby allies,
Flow of Time and
Illusionary Reversion keep
Alacrity on them, and
Mental Defense turns shatter 4 into a group stun break.
In a zerg that makes it a boon support with two buttons the squad plans around.
Well of Precognition gives allies a window where incoming attacks are blocked, and
Time Warp is the
Quickness you save for a push — with
Temporal Enchanter slotted it also drops
Resistance and
Superspeed on everyone inside it.
We keep one Chronomancer here, a Giver's and Minstrel's zerg build with no damage in it. The other Mesmer support we run, Troubadour, heals better. Chronomancer's argument is the Wells, the
Quickness, and
Mantra of Concentration — which on both builds is the only skill that gives allies
Stability at all.
Boon Chronomancer Rifle / Sword & Shield The mechanic is illusions and shatters, and on Chronomancer the shatters are almost entirely support. Every shatter you press with
Illusionary Reversion slotted gives a clone straight back, so the next one is never far away — which matters, because on a support build the shatter is not damage, it is the delivery. Shatter 2 is protection and a chaos aura, shatter 4 is aegis and a stun break for allies, and each one carries
Quickness and
Alacrity out with it.
That is the loop to learn: keep clones up, shatter often, and treat
Continuum Split as the button that lets you spend
Well of Precognition or
Time Warp and get the recharge back.
Where it struggles is that none of it is passive. Clones die, and a shatter into an empty field is a wasted press. The squad's
Stability is a single mantra, so if the enemy is landing the disables it will not be Chronomancer that solves it. And the personal survivability is thin for something wearing Minstrel's —
Restorative Mantras and
Mental Defense both heal and protect the people around you, not you.
